Złoty Potok. Attractions worth visiting
Złoty Potok is the pearl of the region. It is a beautifully located town in the Silesian Voivodeship, in the heart of the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland, in the upper section of the Wiercica valley, 2 km from Janów, on route 793. Tourists are very eager to visit Złoty Potok, because there is no shortage of attractions. The place is famous for its historic trout farm, beautiful Park Reserve, historic palace and manor house, and several picturesque ponds.

Raczyński Palace in Złoty Potok
A magnificent, classicist palace standing in the Historical Park, next to the Krasiński manor, above the picturesque Iridion pond, in which it reflects its face. The palace is abandoned and although it still looks good, it is slowly falling into ruin. This is because the current owner, the state treasury, is in dispute with his heirs after Raczyński

Park Reserve in Złoty Potok
Valuable nature is legally protected here, but also perfectly adapted to hiking and cycling. The Park Reserve hides crystal clear springs and interesting rock remnants with amazing shapes and names, e.g. Twardowski GateorDevil's Bridges. The park is also a habitat for interesting species of flora and fauna. There are, among others, trout and an interesting alpine flake - a relic of the Ice Age. At the Midsummer Night's Dream pond stands the historic Kolaczew Mill and beats the Source of Fulfilled Dreams, if you taste its water and throw a local green stone behind you - the dream will come true
Raczyński Trout Works in Złoty Potok
It is the oldest trout farm in Europe. In the 19th century, the roe of the rainbow trout came here from America and it was served on the royal tables of Europe. Trout are bred here to this day, caught and prepared in a frying room near the historic Trout House. It's a picturesque place to eat a delicious trout. Please note that payment is only in cash, but there is a toilet and free parking on site

The famous outdoor event taking place in August, during which there is a continuous tasting of trout, a symbol of the Golden Stream, but also of tinctures.
American Pond in Złoty Potok
The pond is located between the Market Square with the church in Złoty Potok and the Park Reserve. It is a very popular place for seasonal recreation, with a swimming pool and gastronomic points with local trout and ice cream, plus a rope park and bicycle rental complete the whole. There is a charming path around the pond, although it is not lined with anything, it can be driven by a wheelchair. Next door is Hotel Kmicic
Wały estate in Złoty Potok
Opposite the Trout House, along the road rises the popular Rock with the Cross – the last one on which the cast-iron cross stood, in memory of the uprising of the population during the Kościuszko Uprising. On the rock there is also the family coat of arms of the Krasiński family, which was forged by Wincenty Krasiński. Just behind the Rock with the Cross, there was a fortified early medieval settlement centuries ago, functioning from the 8th to the 12th century, today barely earth traces can be seen in this place. It was "Osiedle Wały" - a rock stronghold surrounded by a ring of triple ramparts made of earth, wood and stones. Its inhabitants praised the god Światowit with four faces.

Jurassic Film Summer in Złoty Potok
Every year in July, cinema lovers flock to Złoty Potok for the whole weekend for the Jurassic Film Summer. For a few days, there is a huge film picnic, on the membranes near the American Pond and the Kmicic Hotel, a huge screen and thousands of cinematographers spread out to watch famous films. The screenings are accompanied by other events, meetings with actors, antique car rallies, etc.
Zygmunt Krasiński in Złoty Potok
In 1857, Zygmunt Krasiński, an outstanding Polish creator of the Romantic era, stayed in Złoty Potok for several months. He came here to visit his father Wincenty Krasiński, with his wife Elżbieta née Branicki and children. He fell in love with this beautiful land, in which he named many spines, ponds and springs.
To this day, these names work, for example, he named the most famous sources of Elżbieta and Zygmunt, giving rise to Wiercica, one of the most beautiful names he gave to one of the ponds - Midsummer Night's Dream. Unfortunately, a great tragedy happened here, namely his youngest daughter - 4-year-old Elizabeth - died in Złoty Potok at that time, after which the poet left the place, returned to Paris and never visited these parts again.
