The Main Market Square in Krakowis a symbol of the city, certainly one of the most beautiful and largest (200 x 200 m) medieval markets in Europe. It attracts with its amazing atmosphere, monuments and entertainment. In 1978, it was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

St. Mary's Basilica

The Royal Market Square is dominated by the St. Mary's Basilica, with the famous Altar of Wit Stoss. The chancel of the church with the altar is visited for a fee. From the higher tower of the church called Hejnalica, a bugle call played live by trumpeters resounds every hour. The tower can be accessed by wooden stairs after purchasing a ticket. There is a nice panorama of the city. The tower is closed from December to April and is open to people from 8 years of age.

Cloth Hall

The central place on the Market Square is occupied by the historic Cloth Hall - a medieval commercial building, still serving merchants. Here you can buy or watch beautiful, often typically Polish products, from jewelry, through clothes to, for example, chess.

On the Market Square, there is a proud monument to the national bard - Adam Mickiewicz, sweetly called Adas. It is the usual meeting place for people dating in this large square.

Town Hall Tower

The 70-meter Town Hall Tower located on the Market Square offers a wide panorama of the city, while inside there is a branch of the Historical Museum of the City of Krakow. Currently, the tower is the only remnant of the Town Hall and probably dates back to the 14th century.

Underground Market
