Legend - Silesian Amusement Park

Legendia is aformer Silesian Funfair in the Silesian Park inChorzów and at the same time the oldest amusement park and amusement park in Poland. It was opened in 1959. I have known this place since a small child, because my Grandparents lived nearby and often took me to this children's paradise 🙂 In Amusement Park, the curves of mirrors and a barrel of laughter were the most enjoyable, of course, apart from the carousels🙂 Over time, however, the devices became slightly outdated, not very colorful and did not make such an impression, compared to Western amusement parks. Until the moment of the great transformation!
Beginning of the Legend
In 2017, Śląskie Wesołe Miasteczko changed its owner and transformed into a beautiful, fairy-tale and at the same time mysterious land of fun called Legendia, which attracts with its attractive appearance from the outside, from the main street leading from Katowice to Chorzów. Today, this oldest amusement park in Poland invites guests in a completely different form, it is very attractive for children, although even adults will have a great time here. In Legendia, everyone will discover a child in themselves and have fun at many attractions, and each year they grow more and more. The new owner of Legendia is Tatry Mountain Resorts - the same company that manages, among others, the famous Slovak Tatralandia.

Experiences in Legend
Legend is a paradise for families with children, it is a good entertainment for everyone, sometimes extreme for young people and adults, but also peaceful fun for younger children. Even a 2-year-old will have fun here, and 3-year-olds and older children can enjoy a wide range of attractions here. Admission to individual attractions is determined by the height of the child, and scoops accompany many attractions. It is certain that everyone will find something interesting for themselves, there are various carousels for younger children, with animals, helicopters or planes, dry pools or playgrounds. Bigger and faster carousels await the elderly, as well as rollercoasters and other unusual adventures! Get to know the best attractions of Legendia, as well as our comparison of Legendia with Energylandia and Majaland.
Flower Legend

Particularly noteworthy here is the iconic Legend of the Flower (former Big Star). It is the largest family carousel in Poland, accommodating 216 people in 36 beautiful rainbow gondolas. You will see one of the best views in Chorzów, including the entire beautiful Silesian Park! Already as a child, I rode this carousel, which at that time was called Devil's Mill. Today it is still a symbol of the park, visible from the main street and attracting to the inside 🙂

Lech Coaster
In July 2017, an amazing rollercoaster with the legendary name Lech was opened. It is located in the settlement of Lech - the progenitor of the Polan state. Here you will face a dangerous eagle and soar into the air at a dizzying speed of 95 km/h. The height of the Lech Coaster is 40 m and the length of the track - over 900 m. As many as 4 inversions have been created on the route, so there is power. This is one of the best rollercoasters in Poland! And I must admit that I really liked its track and location, even from the bottom, because we did not decide to ride, it's too much for us 🙂

Diamond River
We really liked the Diamond River attraction in Legendia - a boat ride through a mountain land full of diamonds. A 12-person boat sails down a magical mountain river overcoming two towers 8 and 12 meters high on the route. We were delighted by this unique world of dwarves mining diamonds in the mine. It is idyllic here, and the descents from the towers themselves provide a mega experience 🙂 Also to viewers, especially if you find yourself in the "splash zone" 😉
Jaga Valley - new 2020

Since 2020, a new, very magical place has been available in the Legend - the Yaga Valley, where, as you can guess, the witch Baba Yaga rules. The charming Jaga Valley is traversed in a copper cauldron, it's very fun, I recommend it! It is best to see for yourself 🙂 As for me, it causes even more emotions than the similar Jungle Adventure from Energylandia. In the Jaga Valley, there are a lot of cauldrons in motion at the same time, so waiting is not a big problem, because even if there is a queue, everything goes very smoothly 🙂 I highly recommend this novelty of the Legend!

Basilisk
Basilisk is the first Interactive Dark Ride in Poland, i.e. an interactive ride in 6-person wagons through the magical world of Basilisk, where on specially prepared stages lasers are shot at creatures and monsters 🙂 Arrows are counted and a winner is selected at the end, so it is worth kidnapping🙂

Legend - attractions for young children
Various attractions await the youngest in Legendia. For example, Air Castle, an inflatable slide in the form of a castle, Carousel of Love - a classic Viennese carousel, which, as usual, was to our 2-year-old's taste🙂, Air Ballons, beautiful rainbow balloons, a monkey grove under the roof in the Basilisk pit or the Sky Hunters carousel with helicopters. The smile will certainly be evoked by Circus Train - a colorful train showing the backstage of the circus world 🙂

Other experiences in Legend
The Legend also awaits the Dream Hunters Society - a rollercoaster that will take you on a crazy ride on a twisted, multi-level track with a length of 335 meters. The Magical Lake Expedition is a great rocking boat! You will be entertained as before by the Cabinet of Crooked Mirrors called Boruta's Tricks today! Here you will see slender, long legs like Barbie's or short and thick legs like a dwarf's😉

Dream Flight Airlines, or good old planes, is a legendary attraction of the Silesian Amusement Park, consisting of six 10-seater planes that not only swing sideways, but also rotate around their own axis! For those who like to play, the Game Room will definitely turn out to be cool - a lot of fun in one place, including car races, basketball, and attractive prizes to win! These and many other attractions await in the Legend! On the Main Street, or Legendia pedestrian street, at the very entrance, you can visit an interesting, small Museum called the Crown of the Earth, with the highest peaks of our planet and souvenirs of famous climbers, which are not lacking in Poland!

Legend - Location
The legend is located at the southern end of the Silesian Park, next to the Silesian Zoological Garden, on the main road leading from Chorzów to Katowice. From the Silesian Stadium, the former Amusement Park can be reached by an unusual means of transport - the Elka lowland cable car. At the Legendia itself, from Złota Street, there is a paid car park.
Legend - prices and comparison with Energylandia and Majaland
In Legendia, you buy all-day passes entitling you to travel on all carousels and use all attractions at will throughout the day, just like in Energylandia and Majaland Kownaty. As in other parks, you can also buy season tickets, which are much more profitable.
It must be admitted that tickets in Legendia are not cheap, but there will be plenty of fun all day long. There are not so many attractions here as in Energylandia, but I liked the Legend more in terms of aesthetics, it reminds me more of the wonderful Majaland Kownaty in this respect, which is even more expensive relatively.
Similarly, gastronomy in Legendia and Majaland offers prices from beyond the western border, so it is worth taking a thicker wallet or having a picnic with your food, especially since not all gastronomic outlets operate in Legendia and there are queues. In this respect, Energylandia is much better, where there are plenty of catering outlets and prices are affordable.
