Jastrzębia Góra. Attractions worth seeing in the area

- Jastrzębia Góra is the northernmost point of Poland, according to the Star of the North monument (between the entrances 23 and 24 to the beach)
- It is a popular seaside resort, with a beautiful cliff coast. The cliff here reaches about 50 m high
- The most popular entrance to the beach is number 23. A wide staircase leads to the sands, and there is a pub on the beach (toilets are to be paid). In this area, there are the most holidaymakers on the beach and thus the most screens.
- Promenada Światowida offers a cheap and tasty frying room and a Przypiek smokehouse. The promenade leads to exit 24, also with stairs and a pub.
- West of Entrance 24 and east of Entrance 21, you'll find much more secluded beaches.
- On the border of the village you will find 2 lighthouses in Rozewo, which are practically next to each other
Jastrzębia Góra is a popular Baltic town located in the Pomeranian Voivodeship. You will find it on the east coast, next to Władysławowo, which begins the Spit with the famousHel. Jastrzębia Góra has been known to all Poles since 2000, especially students, when it was hailed as the northernmost point of Poland. Previously, it was believed that Rozewa was the edge of Poland.

Accommodation in Jastrzębia Góra
While in Jastrzębia Góra, we slept in the Sedna Centre. It's an attractive place for families. The area is fenced, with a large, free parking lot, about 800 meters from the beach. In the resort there is a very nice playground, an outdoor swimming pool, and a playroom for the youngest in the building. Accommodation is offered in a large building in the form of rooms and in summer cottages. Slightly older, but with everything you need: an equipped kitchen, a clean bathroom and a sleeping area, a sofa bed downstairs and 3 single beds upstairs. There is also a private barbecue area next to the house. Breakfast and lunch can be bought at the resort. We did not take advantage of the dinners so that they did not limit us temporarily, but the breakfasts were delicious and very rich. I highly recommend it!

Attractions in Jastrzębia Góra, what is worth seeing in the resort?
And you won't find many tourist attractions in the village, because this beautiful sandy beach is the heart and the greatest asset of this place. However, it is worth seeing some interesting places in this resort. Check out the best attractions of Jastrzębia Góra!
Obelisk of the Star of the North - the northernmost tip of Poland
Jastrzębia Góra is famous throughout Poland for the fact that it is the northernmost place in Poland, as reported by an obelisk called the Star of the North. In the past, it was mistakenly believed that it was Cape Rozewie, but since 2000 Jastrzębia Góra has been the edge of Poland. Below the obelisk, which stands on a high cliff, below on the beach there is a pole painted in white and red stripes, which symbolizes the northern end of Poland. The remaining ends of Poland are Opołonek in the Bieszczady Mountains, Cedynia in the west and Knee of the Bug in the east. Have you been to all these points? We have not yet.
Address: Access to Norwida Street

Beach in Jastrzębia Góra - an experience for children and adults
The sandy Baltic beaches are considered one of the most beautiful in the world. Or at least peculiar, because it is rare to find such wide and sandy beaches elsewhere. Due to the high cliffs, those in Jastrzębia Góra are not as wide as in other parts of the Baltic coast. But they're still beautiful. Of course, not everyone likes screens and bustle, and those in the season are definitely between entrances 22 and 24. The most popular is the entrance 23 to the beach. There are wide stairs, a pub on the beach and paid toilets toi toi. If you like a quiet holiday, avoid this place. It is much quieter west of entrance 24 and east of entrance 21. There, the beaches have more charm and natural appearance. That's where we used to sit most often.

Promenade Światowida, Jastrzębia Góra promenade
In the summer in Jastrzębia Góra, apart from the beach, it is, of course, on the Światowida Promenade. It is a popular promenade leading directly to the sands, and in fact to the stairs descending to the beach (entrance No. 24). On the way, you will encounter typical seaside attractions, including a children's playground with inflatable slides, an electric train and other attractions for children. But even adults will find something for themselves here. There are cafes, souvenirs and, as befits the sea, fish fryers. We recommend especially the Przypiecek smokehouse, where you can also eat fried fish at a good price. There is no shortage of tourists in this area during the high season.

Villa Kaszubka in Jastrzębia Góra
On Królewska Street, there are two famous Hawkish monuments, beautiful wooden villas standing next to each other. The older one is called Kaszubka. It is one of the three oldest buildings in this resort on the Baltic Sea. It was built in 1921-22 and now offers guest rooms. It stands near the Światowida Promenade, almost by the sea and delights with beautifully painted, colorful shutters.

Outdoor exhibition of wooden sculptures on a cliff in Jastrzębia Góra
While strolling along the hawk cliff, you can admire interesting wooden figures. They also stand in other parts of the resort, but it is those on the cliff that are the most popular. They were created during the open-air sculptures. The invited artists were to perform motifs related to Kashubia and the sea. They have left interesting works that add style to Jastrzębia Góra and attract the attention of tourists. The most visited is the bird of prey, most likely a hawk. You will reach it by walking along the Promenade Światowida towards the sea. The sculpture stands at the main observation point of the resort.
From here, you will find most of the sculptures heading west, i.e. left along the path leading to the ridge of the cliff. The sculptures were set up here until the Seagull Villa and the descent to the beach.

Lighthouses in Rozewo - viewpoints
Rozzewie is such a unique place, because there are two lighthouses standing close to each other. They look at each other for real. Both were created in the 19th century and functioned simultaneously for several decades. When the old one was renovated, the new one ceased to play its role.
Old lighthouse at Cape Rozewo
It was built in 1822 and is still operational today. It is she who lights up the sky after dark. It is open for sightseeing. As part of the ticket, you can not only enter the viewpoint, but also visit the engine room with the old steam engine and the barn with a temporary exhibition.
On the way to the top of the old lighthouse, you will see exhibitions related to the Baltic Sea, lanterns and Baltic shipping. And did you know that potentially the oldest lighthouse in the Baltic Sea dates from the 11th century and was located on the island of Wolin? Adam of Bremen, a German chronicler at the time, called it "the pot of the Volcano".

New lighthouse at Cape Rozewo
In 1875, a new lighthouse was built, which served until the old one was renovated. Currently, the new lighthouse is also open to the public, but separate admission tickets to both monuments are valid.

Lisi Jar - a natural curiosity
Lisi Jar is a rather narrow gorge that stretches along a narrow strip between Jastrzębia Góra and Rozewie until the Baltic coast. It is up to 50 meters deep, and its slopes are covered with over a hundred-year-old beeches. Interestingly, once the gorge was even 10 km long, but the sea carried it to itself and it remained so for 350 meters. Lisi Jar is part of the Seaside Landscape Park. It's an interesting natural attraction.
At the entrance to the ravine, the Count de Rosset built the first seaside tourist hostel in Poland around 1920. It was called "Nad Lisim Yarem". Nearby, however, he erected an obelisk commemorating the story according to which Sigismund III Vasa landed here after an unsuccessful expedition for the crown of Sweden. His ship crashed in the area in 1594. The obelisk stands to this day.

Other attractions of Jastrzębia Góra and the surrounding area
- Butterfly Plant Rozewie, ul. Latarników 21 - is located at the access to the Rozewie lighthouse. It is the largest butterfly factory in Poland, and in the middle beautiful, colorful butterflies fly freely among tourists. We visited a similar one in Władysławowo
- Upside down house, Latarników Street - a place where the labyrinth is raging
- Mural Jastrzębia Góra, at Promenade Światowida, next to exit 24
- Museum of Wax Figures, Światowid Promenade - you will see here reproductions of the celebrities of the cinema, political and sports scene

Free parking in Jastrzębia Góra
We found a nice free parking lot in the center of the resort. It is a rarity at the Polish seaside. It is located at the intersection of Puckiej and Obrońców Westerplatte streets, about 500 meters from the sea and about 300 meters from the Przypiecek Smokehouse. It is not very large and can accommodate a dozen or so cars and usually during the season there are free seats until 10.00. Then it's just a coincidence that you manage to park.

Where to eat in Jastrzębia Góra?
Jastrzębia Góra promenade offers plenty of places to eat. You will find here several cuisines of the world and all gastronomic novelties, but we recommend, of course, fish, because by the sea they are usually the most popular and deserve our attention. A special place is the Przypiecek Smokehouse with a frying room. It is located on the Światowida Promenade and offers great prices for many fish species. Every day of the season, you can buy warm smoked fish here, eat on site or take it with you even on a further journey, in vacuum packaging. There is also a frying room on site, where fresh fish are also waiting at a very affordable price. Tables under umbrellas, standing in close proximity to the sea, create an interesting atmosphere. As a customer, you will use the toilet free of charge here, which is not a standard at the Polish seaside.
And once you are fed with specifics, we recommend the very tasty Zielona Werandacafe located in the center, at Rozewska Street. It's very atmospheric and pretty, and the prices are pretty decent for the place. Just like in our Tarnowskie Góry mountains. The café offers tasty coffees, delicious cakes, ice cream and various spinach drinks, if you only have the power to resist sweets! There is also a free toilet for guests of the café. In the center, we also ate cheburek, known to us from Podlasie. Very tasty, but a bit expensive compared to other dishes served in the village.

Why the name Jastrzębia Góra?
Jastrzębia Góra owes its name to a high cliff, reaching almost 70 m above sea level in Kępa Swarzewska, and to predatory birds circling above it. This beautiful cliff coast gives the village an incredible charm, and although the beaches are not as wide as in other parts of the Baltic coast, the views from the cliff are fantastic. And the beaches don't lack for anything either!
