Istria in Croatia. Attractions worth visiting and seeing in Istria. The most interesting places!

Istria, Novigrad
  • Istria is a peninsula in the north of Croatia. This is the most Italian part of the country
  • Beautiful towns located upstairs on the coast await here
  • The beaches in Istria are usually rocky, but the water is warm and has a beautiful color
  • Due to sharp stones and sea urchins, it is worth using special water shoes, they can be bought in stores on site
  • It is worth seeing the ancient Roman amphitheater, it is available for a fee in Pula in southern Istria
  • At the southern end, the wild Cape Kamenjak awaits, is available for a fee, offers fantastic views and interesting rock cliffs
  • In the city of Vrsar there is a huge naturist campsite, not only with a beach, it's an entire district, with shops
  • A little-known but wonderful town is Groznjan - the City of Artists. I highly recommend it!

  • Car parks in most towns are paid and usually cost around 2 euros. Sometimes it is the price per hour, and sometimes for the entire stop. If it's per hour, it's usually paid at checkout, depending on the length of the stop. Only in Pula we came across a parking lot where we had to determine the parking time in advance
  • You will not pay a vignette for motorways in Istria. They can't be redeemed or paid for online. The operator is different here than in other regions of the country, you always pay for your trip at the gates, in cash or by card.

Istria, offering plenty of attractions and a Mediterranean climate, is a Croatian peninsula, located in the northern part of the country. This is the easiest and fastest part of Croatia for Poles. Especially for those who travel by car, not by plane. It is also considered by many to be the most beautiful region of this country. Green and picturesque. We checked it out by exploring Istria with our family, in our own car. It was a wonderful holiday in Croatia!

What captivates the most in Istria are the wonderful coastal towns, beautifully set on a rocky coast, drenched in azure Adriatic. They often hide not only fantastic buildings, but also beautiful beaches. The sandy ones are in vain to look for, but the stone ones also have an undeniable charm. The interior of the Istrian peninsula is also breathtaking and worth seeing. Towns on the hills are kind of fortresses with walls. They look great from every perspective. We will show you the most beautiful places of the peninsula. Check out which attractions are worth seeing in Istria!

Pula with a Roman amphitheater, the largest city on the peninsula

Pula is the largest city on the peninsula. It grew up in Roman times. It is noble and very old, with traces of antiquity. It is located in the south, on the west side. This area was already inhabited in the fifth century BC, and in the second century BC this area was occupied by the Romans and they created a Roman colony here, experiencing its heyday in the first centuries of our era. Interesting monuments have been preserved from that time, including the triumphant Arch of Sergius at Flanaticka Street, the Temple of Augustus at Forum Square and, of course, the huge Roman amphitheatre (Flavijevska Street). It could accommodate 23,000 people and remembers the fights of gladiators and wild animals. It is one of 3 such well-preserved amphitheatres of ancient Rome. The ruins of the amphitheater in Pula are available for a fee, but they are also well visible without buying tickets. In the basement, the facility offers an exhibition about the former production of wine and olive oil.

Interestingly, in antiquity, Pula was inhabited by 30,000 inhabitants, the medieval era was devastated by epidemics and it had only 300 inhabitants at that time. During the next boom in the nineteenth century, 40,000 inhabitants lived here. Currently, about 60,000 people live here. The long Venetian reign left its mark in the form of a powerful Venetian fortress from the 17th century. Today, it is a museum area, and from the bastions and the tower there is a beautiful panorama of the city. The object is often called a castle.

A little-known curiosity in Pula is the monastery and church of St. Francis at Svetog Franje Street. It stands halfway between the Forum and the fortress, next to a narrow street from which you have to climb uphill. It is true that the facility is visited for a fee, but the ticket costs only 1 euro, and there are toilets on site that can be used when visiting the city. Turtles roam the grass in the courtyard, in the amount of several pieces. They are cute, small and you have to be careful not to step on them. In the temple, in the main altar, there is a wooden polyptych from the mid-15th century - one of the most valuable Gothic wooden sculptures in Istria.

Cape Kamenjak - the southern end of Istria, a national park, beaches and cliffs on the Adriatic Sea

Cape Kamenjak is a unique place, famous for its turquoise coves and beautiful views. Not so popular among Poles, but  really worth a visit. To get here, head from Pula to Premantura. Wild, beautiful coastline, cut into land by deep coves, offers paradise beaches, diving, wonderful nature and indelible memories. This area is protected (a national park has even been created on one of the islands) and is available for a fee during the season. You pay for entry by car and it is a charge for the whole day, and there are a lot of attractions. Not only beaches, but also bike paths, viewpoints and a dinosaur path.

You can move around the cape by car, every now and then you will find parking lots on the side of the road, or rather parking spaces. You can't drive fast here and you have to reckon with the fact that the car will be completely dusted. The paths are as wild as the surrounding nature. Also indomitable are the drives of the daredevils who, on the Mala Kolumbarica Beach, at the very end of the cape, jump from high cliffs to the sea

The view is breathtaking, especially since there are islets around, and on one of them there is the Porer lighthouse offering... apartments! You can only get there by boat. It's about 2 km from the mainland. And a little deeper, I recommend Njive Beach with azure water, but there are really a lot of similar places here and you can find an empty place even in July!
Parking: entering Kamenjak by car costs 15 euros in the season (2023). Free admission out of season.

Opatija - the eastern beginning of Istria with a health resort

Opatija is the most beautiful, or at least one of the most beautiful cities in Istria. Of course, in my opinion, it is associated as a resort for the rich, but in fact everyone can find themselves here and enjoy the extraordinary charm of this place free of charge.

I love places where photos take themselves, and each one is fairy-tale, and it's not because of the golden hour or the magical sunset. Although I had visited Opatija in the past, she knocked me off my feet again and took my breath away. Although getting here is not the easiest, I would not mind coming here again, which I highly recommend to you!

It is true that accommodation here is a bit more expensive and you will find extremely luxurious hotels and exclusive restaurants with sun loungers offering a paradise view of the sea. But right next to it there are benches for everyone, beaches that I or you can use. By sunbathing and swimming in the bay next to each other, we all become equal and at the same time so small and "pale" in the face of the beauty of the surrounding scenery.

The historic Lungomare Promenade runs along the entire city. As its name from Italian suggests, it is located by the sea. Walking through it is the best way to get to know the charms of Opatija. You can return in the same way or by a parallel road more in the depths of the city.

At the marina and Zert Street, it is worth going a little higher than the promenade and look at the beautiful Angiolina Park, where you will see that the climate of Opatija is exceptionally warm and mild. This is because the city on the Kvarner Bay is sheltered from the northern winds. Here, plants grow that are associated not only with warm, but also exotic countries. In the middle of the park there are palm trees, oleanders, cypresses and even banana trees!

Looking at Opatija, it is not surprising that almost all members of the imperial family and many European crowned heads from Italy, Serbia, Montenegro and Greece, and even Norway, stayed here. Another interesting fact is that the bathing areas here are limited by nets, because in the past there were meetings with sharks here!
Parking: we recommend a paid car park above the Angiolina Park, at Drage Gervaisa Street. Paid at check-out, €2/h

Rovinj - the pearl of Istria

Rovinj is the pearl of the region. Because of its beauty, it is called the Croatian Saint Tropez or Venice because of its Italian past, culture and, above all, style of construction. The drone images show how wonderfully situated Rovinj is, considered by many to be the most beautiful city in Istria. I am inclined to agree with this opinion, despite the fact that we were just found here by a storm and the sky wanted to fall on our heads.

The most beautiful in the city is the Old Town, which climbs up the narrow, cobbled streets. The summit culminates in the stately church of St. Euphemia. It dates back to the 18th century and represents the Venetian Baroque style. It was he who sheltered us from the great downpour. However, we managed to enjoy the truly amazing charm of this city, whose origins date back to ancient times.

The feeling is extraordinary when you walk through a narrow pavement surrounded by beautiful tenement houses, and every few steps the sea appears through narrow passages between houses. Only the steps separate you from the heart of the Old Town and the surface is sinking. I really like it and it makes a thunderous impression. Not only aesthetic, because as a mother I would think that I would live here with a small child every day. Walking on these sloping cobbles with a stroller can't be easy either! But it's beautiful, there are colorful galleries and pubs in the tenement houses. It is really worth visiting Rovinj, because it is high on my list of the most interesting places in the region.
Parking: Giordana Paliage street, by the sea near the Old Town, payable at the exit, 2 euros/h

Vrsar - a climatic town with Casanova

Vrsar is another beautiful and old town in the western part of Istria, lying south of the town of Porec. Bishops from Porec have been residing in the town of Vrsar since the 11th century, treating it as their summer residence. It was not until the 19th century that the resort began to expand towards the Adriatic Sea.

The historic Old Town sits on top of a hill. Above the church of St. Foszek stands one of the main city gates. After crossing it, you enter the atmospheric streets. First, he invites a pleasant square intersected by Rade Koncara Street. You will sit here in the shade of umbrellas to drink coffee or eat ice cream. On the one hand, there is a nice view with a window over the port, on the other hand, you can admire the interesting church of St. Anthony. It is worth sitting here on a stone bench, next to the sculpture of Giacomo Casanova, who visited Vrsar in his youth.

It is here that another gate will take you to the main square, with colorful tenement houses. Behind it stands the magnificent church of St. Martin with a high bell tower, which is a paid viewing point. It is worth the more that in this city you could not let go of a drone. We arrived too late, because at sunset, but nothing lost, because just behind the church there is another wonderful viewpoint - Bepo and Tonina. In fact, there are two points, located close to each other. The view from here is magical.

Vrsar Koversada - naturist camping and beach

But Vrsar is not only the Old Town. Be sure to go down to the harbor and marina, from where you can walk along the shore along the stone promenade, passing cafes, restaurants and beaches. If you go too far, you may be surprised to see naked people. Because in this part of the city a naturist zone was created. I deliberately did not write the beach, because it is a huge district called Koversada. Here, life simply goes on without clothes. It's a great campsite where you can feel really free.

Did we want to experience this freedom? No! We came here by complete accident. With our girls, and it was quite an interesting, initially embarrassing adventure, until we turned it into a big joke. I just saw the pictures of a beautiful island with a bridge leading to it and I absolutely wanted to reach it. Thanks to self-denial, we came to the bridge, located in the heart of Koversada, but the number of naturists crossing a rather narrow bridge, however, made us give up further exploration of this district. After all, I wanted to take pictures from here, and it was troublesome to spread my wings in this area. A quick photo had to be enough for me. I admit that I left disappointed, although the further away, the more fun this trip seemed to us.

And it was only at this point that I realized why Croatia had so far been associated with naked holidaymakers. When I was last in Istria, more than 20 years ago, as a young girl, we lived in the Petalon Resort, which directly borders Koversada. And suddenly everything became clear! Anyway, this place is really cute!
Parking: at Pineta Street, close to the marina and the Old Town, payable at the exit, 1.5 EUR/h

Viewpoint on Lim Fjord (Lim Canal)

Lim Fjord, also called the Lim Canal or actually the Lim Lagoon, creates a very picturesque landscape, between the towns of Vrsar and Rovinj. In fact, it is a part of the Pazincica river valley, which is currently losing its waters in Pazinska Jamie. The lagoon is 10 km long and is called a canal due to its small width. It is mistakenly called a fjord, because it is actually a flooded former river valley, and this was due to the rise in sea level.

The walls of the valley reach a height of 20 m at the mouth of the Adriatic Sea up to 150 m at the eastern end. Fish and high-quality oysters and mussels live in the lake. It has the status of a nature reserve. An interesting observation point was built in the eastern part, with free parking and an observation tower. You can also buy local products here - alcohols, olive oil or cheese.
Parking: free of charge at route 21, Marasi

Groznjan - City of Artists - the most beautiful town in Istria?

Do you sometimes have a place that brings you to your knees? In Croatia, this was the case with the town of Groznjan. Initially, I could not remember its name, until I associated it with the threatening Jan and it will remain in my memory forever. However, this association does not reflect the climate that prevails here.

It is a wonderful city, whose mere location on a hill and buildings can impress. In addition, it is the City of Artists, with numerous galleries from which handicrafts flow onto the walls of the facades, creating a fairy-tale scene in combination with the flower. We visited a similar place 10 years ago in England. It was the village of Castle Combe, Wiltshire.

Groznjan dates back to the Middle Ages, although Roman ruins were discovered nearby and it lies in the depths of Istria, 15 km from the sea, near Nowigrad. It used to be called Kastel and functioned as a castle. Perhaps no one would remember him today, because the old stone houses were deserted after World War II when the local population emigrated. At that time, Italian Istria was within the borders of Yugoslavia.

In the second half of the 20th century, however, the houses came to life again when the artists decided to revive this picturesque corner. It was a great success, because today it is a kind of cultural capital of Istria, where you are not only touched by art, but you can listen to concerts, relax from everyday life and immerse yourself in the surrounding beauty. Artists come from all over the world, but the curiosity is that among the inhabitants of Groznjan a high percentage are Italians!
Parking: located at the entrance to the town and payable. We paid 1.5 euros.

Novigrad - our base in Istria

Don't let the name fool you, because Novigrad has a very long history. The city in this place, called Aemona, was already founded by the Romans. The name Civitas Nova, or New Town, gained in the 5th century. And did you know that until the 18th century Novigrad was on an island? Only then did the city authorities decide to backfill the isthmus that separated the island from the mainland.

Located on the west coast of Istria, Novigrad is a very good base for exploring this part of Croatia. Especially for families with children.

Novigrad Karpinjan Beach - the perfect family attraction for Istria

Where in many places of this country we find only narrow, concrete or stone promenades,  ending with a deep sinkhole, to which ladders usually lead, Novigrad offers several nice beaches, including the very pleasant, though stony Karpinjan Beach. Above the bay, where it is very shallow, calm and safe. It is an ideal place for water games for the whole family, as we have seen many times. After sightseeing, late afternoon rest in the warm Adriatic Sea was wonderful. You can lie here on sun loungers, separated from others by a thatched roof, in the shade of trees. On the beach there are showers and toilets, as well as a playground, all free of charge. Bars are also waiting, and you can rent pedal boats and the recently popular sup boards.

Novigrad Old Town

It is only 1 km from the Old Town of Novigrad, which is pleasant for a walk. In the city, you can see charming streets, colorful pubs and a stone breakwater ended with a low lighthouse. And next to it stands the 11th-century church of Saints Maximilian and Pelagius with a campaign. The latter is the patron saint of the city. The city walls have also been preserved here. Novigrad charmed us, not only with beautiful sunsets. It is a very good place to relax and a great base for exploring interesting places in Istria.

Baredine Cave - Istria's underground treasure

Baredine Cave is an attraction I highly recommend. The cave is very beautiful, located near the village of Nova Vas, 5 km from the sea shore. The area is quiet, and yet many tourists come here to look inside the earth, revealing beautiful treasures in the form of amazing calcite infiltrates. And in every possible form. There are stalactites growing on the ceiling, also those thin ones called noodles, stalagmites growing on the bottom and climbing upwards, as well as stalagnates formed in the place where both joined. Their shapes are so fascinating that it's hard to take your eyes off them. One can imagine here organs, heads of animals or a crooked tower in Pisa, or even Our Lady.

If you believe the legend, you can meet the beautiful shepherdess Milka here. She was loved by a nobleman from Porec named Gabrijel. The bad mother of the boy, unable to extinguish the burning love, ordered the villains to kill the girl. However, they spared her life and threw her into a hole in the ground. Gabriel stubbornly searched for her, but he never found Milka or her body. Apparently, she fossilized in the dark and can still be admired here.

Human fish or cave changelings

Under the ground you will see a real unique thing - the so-called human fish. This unique animal, called Proteus anguinus Laurenti in Latin. It is an endemic amphibian and at the same time the largest underground animal in the world. It is about 20 cm long, the female is slightly larger than the male. Because of the darkness, their eyes have faded and are covered with skin. That's why they can't see us, but we can. In Baredine Cave you will meet 2 specimens - a female and a male, but they are separated from each other because they fought each other. They feed on what will flow into the cave, and as this does not often happen, it has been found that a human fish can survive without food for up to a year. And he lives to be 100!

The cave is visited for about 40 minutes, with a guide. You can choose Croatian, English or German. The temperature here is very pleasant, 14 degrees Celsius, so you do not need a sweatshirt. It's a cool chill in the heat. There is a restaurant on site, as well as picnic benches. The ticket price also includes a small museum and a lapidarium. Getting there by car is not a problem. Unfortunately, the facility is not accessible to people in wheelchairs, because you have to climb many stairs.
Tickets: €11 (2023)
Parking: large free parking by the cave

Hum - the smallest city in the world

Hum is a tiny town, located in the depths of Istria, about 9 km southeast of Buzet. It bears the proud title of the smallest city in the world. It is even entered in the Guinness Book of Records. According to Wikipedia, in 2018 there were 28 inhabitants.

Today it is a kind of stone open-air museum, lively, beautiful and atmospheric. It is definitely worth seeing this place, and by the way, sit in the local restaurant. Interestingly, the history of Humu is long. The first mention dates back to the 12th century. The most important object in the city, which was then a watchtower, was the castle, near which a group of houses surrounded by a wall squatted. Initially, the church stood only outside the defensive walls (the church of St. Jerome), over time a temple was also built in the middle of the city (the church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary).

Today, you will find a paid car park at the city gate, and the entrance to the town is free of charge. The access to Hum is a bit onerous, because there is a narrow road winding among the hills leading to it. We came here returning from Opatija to the west coast. From the E751 motorway, at the intersection with route No. 44, we turned onto a local road that led us to the town.
Parking: 2 euros (2023)

Muggia - Italian town and western beginning of Istria

Muggia is the first western town in Istria and the only Italian town on this peninsula. And just as the whole of Istria has a lot of Italian climate, Muggia has a Balkan climate. These cultures blend wonderfully here, over a beautifully cut cove with a port and a castle. Colorful townhouses, narrow, charming streets, fragrant coffee and real Italian pizza! That's what delighted us at Muggi. We were also lucky in the misfortune. Because although the heat here bothered us a lot, because it oscillated around 40 degrees Celsius, we came here during the siesta, so we had the town almost to ourselves. When in the evenings these alleys are teeming with life, we came across a sleepy town that showed us its charm in total silence.

Even some of the restaurants were closed, fortunately we found an open pizzeria. What do you think, did we like the Italian pizza? Of course, it was delicious! We took a really large one, so that it would be enough for everyone, because it is one of the few dishes that we all enjoy, without exception.

Castello di Miramare is a castle in Trieste, a few kilometres north of the city centre. Already outside Istria, but because of the charm of this place, I mention it in this guide, because it is a very popular attraction. This 19th-century buildingis almost suspended on the seashore, creating an incredibly picturesque landscape, even spectacular.

The castle was built for the Austrian Archduke Ferdinand Maximilian of the Habsburg dynasty, who moved here with his wife Charlotte from Belgium. He also hosted his brother - Emperor Franz Joseph I and his wife Elisabeth of Bavaria, known as Sissi.

The whole is surrounded by a beautiful park, which is available to tourists every day from morning to evening, and it is free of charge. Among the beautiful alleys, you will also meet a small palace. The castle itself is also available for sightseeing every day, but adults have to pay as much as 13 euros for this pleasure. We gave ourselves a gift.

And a dark legend, considered a real curse. Apparently, every significant man who sleeps in the castle will soon die in tragic circumstances. It began with the builder of the castle and later touched many significant politicians and military.
Parking: a paid car park awaits from the north, at the very stairs leading to the park. This is the parking lot behind the barriers, at the end of Viale Miramare, by the SS14 road. On the other hand, you can find a second, smaller car park, also paid. Sometimes it is possible to park at the promenade free of charge, but in beautiful weather it is very difficult, because the entire promenade stretching north of the center serves as a place for sunbathing and there are usually a lot of holidaymakers here.

Other attractions in Istria

I will present a few more places that we have not been able to get to know better, but we know that they are worth reaching out to. Keep them in mind when traveling in this part of Croatia:

Porec

One of the seaside towns located on the western shore of the peninsula. Between Novigrad and Vrsar. It is a quite popular resort, which tourists like to visit. Interestingly, you will find here an object inscribed on the UNESCO List - the Bishops' Complex of the Euphrasian Basilica. It is an early Christian cathedral dating from the 4th century. It combines classic and Byzantine elements.

Motovun - a town on a hill

One of the most charming cities on the hill, wonderfully towering over Route 44. Many tourists are enchanted by this place and consider it a great local tourist attraction. It is sometimes even called the pearl of central Istria. This extremely atmospheric, medieval resort is located spectacularly. First of all, it is worth admiring the view of the city from below, and strolling through its streets, admire the wonderful landscape of the area, somewhat reminiscent of Tuscany.
Parking: paid at the entrance to Motovun

Buzet

Another beautiful fortress town, located on a hill in the valley of the Mirna River. The history of Buzet dates back to ancient times, when a settlement was established here. As a city, it developed in the Middle Ages, and during the reign of the Venetians, city fortifications were created. We flew only a drone over it.

Istria attractions map

Buzet
Buzet

On the map, we have marked all the attractions and cities that we managed to visit in this part of Croatia. This will make it easier for you to plan your trip:

Istria - the Italian peninsula of Croatia

The past of Istria makes you feel the Italian atmosphere here very strongly. For centuries, this region was Italian and only after World War II it found itself within the borders of Yugoslavia. To this day, however, many Italians live here, and the official languages in Istria are both Croatian and Italian. You will see the names of the towns on the roads in two language versions. There is also an Italian atmosphere of narrow streets and all buildings. In the landscape of the peninsula, however, olive groves often appear. And Italian flavors creep into the kitchen very strongly, with pizza and pastes at the forefront.

Istrian cuisine - what and where to eat in Istria?

Italian toppings in Istrian cuisine can be seen at every step. In every town, you can easily find pizza and Italian pasta. We tasted real Italian pizza in an Italian town in Istria - in Muggi, in the Pizzeria on Marconi Square. It was delicious, as was the coffee. Of course, it is also easy to come across cevapcici  - a Balkan meat dish in various local varieties. It is a derivative of Turkish kebab. We tasted cevapi - a Croatian variety of cevapcici in Opatija, in the form of a burger with local bread and Balkan vegetable paste Ajvar, traditionally made from roasted peppers, eggplants and garlic. The place is called Burger & Pizza House, it's not very fancy, but it's not very expensive either. It is located almost on the beach and allows you to enjoy the sea view.

Half 8 restaurant in Novigrad also offers a beautiful view of the sea during your meal. It's a good idea for a romantic dinner at sunset. You will eat tasty dishes here, beautifully served. Of course, delicious pizza, tuna steak or truffles famous in Istria.

When traveling around Istria, mainly in towns inland, it is impossible not to meet the name of these mushrooms. The truffle basin was located in the valley of the Mirna River. What are truffles? These are characteristic, hard mycorrhizal fungi that are found shallowly underground, often at the roots of trees. This is a rarity of Istrian cuisine, and the real specialty is white truffle. It can cost 3,000 euros per kilogram, and the season starts in the fall. It is usually an addition to simple dishes, the taste of which these mushrooms are designed to conquer.

On the road, you can also easily find stalls with local products - liqueurs, wines, olive oil, cheese or garlic. It's a good idea for a tasty souvenir from your trip, for yourself and your loved ones.

Accommodation in Istria

On Booking you will find many offers from Istria. We initially wanted to find an apartment in Opatija, but it is quite difficult to locate and, moreover, slightly more expensive than many other cities on the peninsula. We finally decided on Novigrad on the west coast and it was a good choice, because it became a beautiful and convenient starting point for exploring the entire west and south coast. The former is particularly attractive for tourists.

You can find our apartment here. It's not very modern and didn't have the best wifi, but we were comfortable. We had air conditioning, a separate bedroom, and the girls slept on sofas in the living room with TV and kitchenette. The bathroom was large and clean, with a shower, and the balcony overlooked the marina. On foot to the sea from under the house we were about 500 meters to the nice beach of Karpinjan.

Practical information about traveling to Croatia

  • Beaches in Croatia are very often rocky. In many places, they require special water shoes so as not to injure the feet
  • Unfortunately, you will not pay a vignette for motorways in Istria. They can't be redeemed or paid for online. The operator is different here than in other regions of the state, so you pay for the trip each time at the gates, in cash or by card. On the way to Opatija, Czech Olomouc in front of the city itself, there is a toll tunnel, about 6 km long
In other countries on the route, i.e. in the Czech Republic, Austria and Slovenia, you can buy vignettes online. In Austria no later than 2 weeks before the trip. As we were there for a week and weekly vignettes were enough, they all cost us a total of less than PLN 200.
  • To fly a drone, you need to register in advance through the application, which you can find on this page.

On the way to Istria, we passed the beautiful Czech Olomouc. And if you are even more interested in paradise beaches, check out our text about Greek Crete.

Summary - holidays in Istria

Istria amazes me! It has captivated me for the second time. I am often told that it is the most beautiful place in Croatia. Beautiful cities on the Adriatic Sea, turquoise coves, pearls of interior and green landscapes are something that really captivates. The greatest admiration was aroused by Opatija, Groznjan, Rovinj, but also by the Baredine Cave. Kamenjak is captivating. I strongly encourage you to go from the west bank to Opatija by road No. 44, because it is very picturesque. If you like the sun, the warmth, and the Mediterranean climate, you'll love it. And you can feel Italy so clearly here that you immediately want to go to them!

It is an ideal destination for Poles. Although it is more expensive than a few years ago, it is still very attractive considering the ratio of price to nice weather, the aesthetics of the region and the attractions offered.
