Gliwice is a nice, historic city, with many architectural curiosities, but in addition you will find a lot of attractions and green places, although maybe it is not so obvious. Discover the best attractions of Gliwice!

1. Market Square and Town Hall in Gliwice

Gliwice Market Square is the most important square in the city, retaining the features of medieval buildings. The market is almost square, and the streets leave here from all corners. In the center of the square there is a nice Town Hall. The first wooden town hall was built here in the thirteenth century, the brick one was built in the fourteenth century and was changed many times, it gained its current form in the twentieth century. Next to the Town Hall there is a popular fountain with Neptune, and under the plate there are underground corridors.

The castle in Gliwice standing near the Market Square, at Pod Murami Street, is an old stronghold, which was an element of medieval city fortifications, was an arsenal. Today it does not look like an old castle, but it is still an interesting architectural building and at the same time one of the branches of the Museum in Gliwice

There is even a storm with rain and lightning, it comes every few minutes over Ruda Śląska. An interesting feature here are authentic buildings from Silesia, which greatly increases the attractiveness of the place, there are also Wild Gliwice arranged in the style of the Wild West, a cool thing, and everywhere there are trains, old and new, freight or passenger. 4. Fun Museum in Gliwice

It is a new, funtastic place in Gliwice, and more specifically in Central Europe, right next to Kolejkowo. The Funzeum opened in February 2022 and immediately attracted crowds. It is a shockingly colorful and delightful place, neither a museum nor an amusement park, created for lovers of photo-taking but not only. You can learn a lot of interesting facts in the field of physics, and the visual experience is visible from every angle. You need to see it with your own eyes and see how colors and lights can affect our senses. The whole thing ends with a large hall with a cafe and a play area for children who do not want to leave!

5. Palm house in Gliwice

The Gliwice Palm House is a very interesting place located in the Chopin Park, near the center. You can see exotic species of plants and animals here and enjoy the summer and lush greenery all year round - the beauty of exotic vegetation in the heart of Silesia! Giant palm trees, lots of cacti and large aquariums. In addition, bridges, ponds and a flyover leading up the hill. It's great, and after a walk among this wildlife, the café invites you for a cup of coffee, with a panoramic terrace on the balcony.

The antenna tower of the Gliwice Radio Station is a very interesting monument of technology and at the same time the tallest wooden structure in the world. It is made of larch beams, joined by brass screws. After dark, the tower is beautifully illuminated. The radio station is a branch of the Museum in Gliwice. The radio station was a place of provocation, which contributed to the outbreak of war

Where to eat in Gliwice?

Gliwice is a large city, there are a lot of culinary points here, but I will especially recommend four such places. On the Market Square, at number 3, I recommend the Good Porridge Our Restaurant with delicious dishes in which porridge appears, but I assure you that they are neither boring nor uninteresting. Very tasty, and also healthy, and the prices are affordable. If you prefer to eat out, and you are attracted to flavors more exotic than Polish cuisine, I recommend the Moja Gruzja Restaurant at Grodowa Street in Gliwice. It is not far from the Market Square, and this family restaurant offers really tasty specialties, such as khachapuri, chinkali or delicious soups. And also something sweet, near My Georgia, also in Grodowa, you will find the Łakoci Island cafe, a cool and tasty place for families with children. As you were drawn to Georgia, another restaurant with similar cuisine is located in Gliwice - Armiańska at Jana Siemińskiego 22. This one is less intimate and more modern than My Georgia, it is located in a beautiful backyard.
