Crown of the Polish Mountains - list of KGP peaks
The Crown of the Polish Mountains is a list of 28 peaks, which are the highest (usually) peaks of individual ranges in Poland. The Crown of the Polish Mountains was created on December 13, 1997 by the magazine "Get to know your country". At that time, the Club of Conquerors of the Crown of the Polish Mountains was also established, which quickly began to gather more enthusiasts of reaching for the specified peaks. If you want to officially get the badge, you must first get the booklet of the Crown of the Polish Mountains, then climb all the peaks listed in it and complete it. The number of KGP winners increases from year to year.
In the KGP list, there are several disputed vertices that do not agree with the adopted regionalization according to Kondracki. In addition, it was supposed to be a list of the highest mountains on which the tourist trail leads. In general, however, this list of peaks has become an inspiring destination for mountaineers. It was created mainly to promote less popular bands, often as beautiful as the most famous and crowded ones. The following are listed according to the height of the peak:

Scratches in the Tatras
The Tatras are the highest mountain range in Poland and the Carpathians. They are located on the border of Poland and Slovakia. These are the only mountains in our country with an alpine character, with breathtaking views.
The dominant climax of the Tatra Mountains on the Polish side is Rysy, with a height of 2499 m. A long and arduous hike is required to achieve this goal. The easier route leads from the Slovak side and it is often chosen even by Poles. Red trails lead to Rysy from both the Slovak and Polish sides from Morskie Oko. We acquired Rysy from the Slovak side in September 2024, the stamp is in the Chata pod Rysami.
Our detailed description of the trail to Rysy from the Slovak side.

High school in the Pieniny Mountains
The Pieniny Mountains are a beautiful, very peculiar mountain range, famous for its rocky turns. The highest peak here is the High 1050 m above sea level. The shortest route to the High is the green trails from Jaworek through the Homole Gorge. You can also choose a longer, but scenic option from Szczawnica. We walked with Jaworek in the autumn of 2024. The stamp is on top of the box.
Our detailed description of the route to Wysoka through the Homole Gorge

Tarnica in the Bieszczady Mountains
The Bieszczady Mountains are considered by some to be the most beautiful and wildest mountains in Poland. Although there is no shortage of tourists here, you can still find wild and secluded peaks. The highest peak in the Bieszczady Mountains is Tarnica 1346 m above sea level, but the most popular are the wildly scenic and picturesque meadows - Caryńska (1297 m) and Wetlińska (1255 m). They are located in the Bieszczady National Park and offer fantastic panoramas. While in these parts, it is also worth anchoring at the beautiful Lake Solina, over which a modern gondola has been transporting tourists since 2022.
Babia Góra in the Żywiec Beskids
The Żywiec Beskids are the highest mountains in Poland after the Tatra Mountains. The culmination here is Babia Góra, reaching 1725 m above sea level, which, together with the Babia Góra National Park created here, provides tourists with an unforgettable experience. It is the only mountain in the Beskids reminiscent of alpine climbing. She can be really dangerous, especially in winter, and capricious. Often, there are breaks in the weather in a very short time. It is not without reason that Babia G. is called Diablak. The most difficult route of the entire Beskids is the yellow-marked Perć Akademików with a Tatra character, leading to the top of Babia.
In 2022, we climbed Babia on the shortest and easiest red trail from Krowiarka Pass. It is about 4.5 km one way, the approach took less than 2 hours. The trail to Sokolica is quite tedious and not very scenic. Above, it is already beautiful and flattened. The mountain showed us its royal capriciousness in all its splendor. The weather was changing like in a kaleidoscope. The stamp is in the ticket office at the entrance to the BgPN Krowiarki Pass, but also, for example, in the PTTK Markowe Szczawiny Shelter.
Our detailed description of the route to Babia Góra from the Krowiarka Pass.

Turbacz w Gory
Gorce is a beautiful mountain range located in the Western Beskids, above Ochotnica. These are magical mountains, devoid of commerce, and offering secluded and wildly charming places. The highest peak here is Turbacz with a height of 1310 m above sea level. We reached here in May 2024 along the red trail that leads from Rabka Zdrój, passing Maciejowa (837 m above sea level) with a bacówka and Stare Wierchy (971 m above sea level) on the way. We jumped on the red trails from Rabka Słone, from where the black signs move steeply uphill towards the red ones. At the top there was a beautiful view of the Tatras. Later, we went to a shelter in Turbacz, which stands on the edge of Wolnica glade, at an altitude of 1283 m above sea level, a 10-minute walk from the summit. While drinking coffee and eating a delicious Gorce dessert, we admired the panorama of the Tatra Mountains, one of the most beautiful in Gorce! A stamp is waiting in the shelter.
Our detailed description of the trail to Turbacz

Mogielica in the Island Beskids
B. Island is a very specific range, and at the same time extremely endearing. There is a lot of space here, and only here and there do individual domes grow, like islands. Hence its name. The highest mountain here is Mogielica (1170 m). Since 2022, there has been a metal observation tower on it, offering a charming panorama. In the winter of 2023, we climbed one of the easier and shorter trails, marked in green, from Chyszówki. It leads from Rydz Śmigły Pass. Initially, the route climbs uphill very gently and passes the buildings. Over time, the trail enters the forest and becomes steeper. Viewing clearing appeared several times. The last and most beautiful on this trail is PolanaWyśnikówka. Crayfish are definitely useful in winter. The last episode is the steepest, but after a while the observation tower appeared to our eyes. It is free and very useful because the peak is covered with forest and does not offer views. A stamp can be found under the tower. We went even lower in the other direction, to the Glade of Stumorgova. It is considered the most beautiful in this region and offers wonderful views. In 2024, we conquered the mountain again in summer, with bicycles. The stamp is on top of the box.
Our detailed description of the trails to Mogielica.

Radziejowa in the Sądecki Beskids
Beskid Sądecki is a charming corner of the Polish Beskids. It is not very popular among tourists, so you will not experience crowds here. The highest point of the band is Radziejowa, reaching 1266 m above sea level (the number 1262 is also encountered). I thought it was boring and not very scenic, because the top is heavily forested, but nothing could be more wrong. The shortest trail from Obidza is interesting and scenic, and it captures a magnificent panorama from the observation tower at the top, covering a lot of peaks, including Gorce, the Three Crowns of Pieniny and the majestic Tatras!
In some places, the trail is rocky and quite steep, and on the way you will pass Mały and Wielki Rogacz. The stamp is located on a plaque under the tower. I recommend it, especially if you don't like hiking in a crowd, although it's not empty in summer either!
Our detailed description of the route to Radziejowa through Obidza

Skrzyczne in the Silesian Beskids
The Silesian Beskids are a very popular and well-liked range located in the western part of the Polish Beskids. The most famous peaks of the Silesian Beskids are Skrzyczne from KGP with a height of 1257 m, rising above Szczyrk and Barania Góra (1220 m) - the "neighbor" of the Vistula.
Skrzyczne can be reached easily and quickly thanks to the year-round cable car. But that's not the point of celebrating mountains. Reaching for the Crown of the Polish Mountains is the work of your own muscles. Candidates for the winners will probably agree with me! Skrzyczne is very scenic and on the way you can admire many wonderful panoramas, e.g. from the green trail from Malinowska Skała. We attacked Skrzyczne with a blue trail from the centre of Szczyrk in winter 2020. In very bad weather and snow. It was steep from the beginning, icing in places. The hardest part was where we walked under the queue, the trail got lost and we had to walk in kicked snow. At the top, we went to the hostel for a warm cup of tea. The seal is in theshelter of PTTK Skrzyczne.
Our detailed description of the route to Skrzyczne.

Czupel in the Little Beskids
Beskid Mały is an interesting region, located on the border of the Silesian and Lesser Poland Voivodeships. Although the peaks of the Little Beskids, as the name suggests, may not impress with their height, the highest mountains do not reach 1000 meters above sea level, but the range is eagerly visited by mountain hikers, because it is very charming. It offers lovely views and is still quiet in many places.
Czupel (933 m) is the culmination here. We walked to it in 2023 along the blue trail from the Przegibek Pass. On warm weekends, it can be crowded here. The blue trail runs from here, the most popular and easiest. It is less than 5 kilometers and about 300 meters of elevation, so it is not a demanding hike, but rather a pleasant walk. The route is picturesque, slightly climbing uphill. On the way, you pass a hostel on Magurka Wilkowicka street. Despite the lack of views at the top, it is very pleasant here. The whole approach took us 80 minutes. The stamp is on top of the box.
Our detailed description of the trail to Czupel.

Lubomir in the Makowski Beskids
One of the least visited corners of the Beskids is certainly the Makowski Beskids. Here you can enjoy the mountains almost in complete silence. The highest peak of the range is Lubomir with a height of 904 m, sometimes included in the Island Beskids.
Lubomir is not scenic, so we went to see him from the shelter in Kudłacze to catch a little view. Almost under the hostel you will find a large, paid parking lot, from where there are already nice panoramas. A few steps and you come to a shelter, very intimate, from which you can also look at the mountains. Further along the red Little Beskid Trail through the forest, we hiked through several peaks to Lubomir. Along the way, you will find one cool viewpoint with benches, between the Three Mounds and Lubomir. At the top there is an astronomical observatory and a stamp.
Our detailed description of the trail to Lubomir

Lackowa in the Low Beskids
The Low Beskids is the most mysterious part of the Carpathians, where trail trails can get lost and lead hikers "into the field". It is worth remembering this when going on a hike here and using applications such as mapy.cz. The highest peak on the Polish side is Lackowa (997 m). The heart of the range is the Magura National Park.
Snow in the Giant Mountains
The beautiful Giant Mountains are located in the Western Sudetes. This is the highest range of the Sudetes with the culmination of the extremely popular Śnieżka (1603 m). We managed to reach this dome belonging to the Crown in beautiful weather, which does not happen very often. We were at Śnieżka in 2014. Our then 5-year-old daughter gathered an unprecedented amount of strength and reached the top. One of the prizes, as it turned out to be the most important for my child, was to paint her nails for walking without wearing them. We had a pedometer with us that grew with each passing moment. The worst for us turned out to be the section from Strzecha Akademicka to the Silesian House. Then we attacked with a sharp approach uphill and there it is! Snowball conquered! The pedometer counted 13,400 steps! It took us 4 hours, quite a lot. The stamp is in the Czech Post pavilion, in the bar by the lift or in the Silesian House.
Our detailed description of the Śnieżka trail.

Śnieżnik Massif
The Śnieżnik massif is the highest mountain range in the Polish part of the Eastern Sudetes, on both sides of the Polish-Czech border. It rises above the picturesque Kłodzka Valley. The central point here is Śnieżnik (1423 m) - the highest point of the entire massif. Popular and eagerly visited, with a new observation tower. We set off to Śnieżnik on New Year's Eve 2022, along the red Main Sudeten Route from Międzygórze, from the parking lot behind the buildings, near the hill. We thought the trail would be empty, but it was full of cars and people. In the summer, you have to come here first thing in the morning, because later there is a problem with a free place. You go to the top according to the signs about 3 hours, but we covered this route in 2 hours. When we passed 1000 meters above sea level, treacherous ice appeared, crampons were useful. The stamp is located in the Hostel PTTK Na Śnieżniku named after Zbigniew Fastnacht.
Our detailed description of the Śnieżnik trail

Szczeliniec Wielki in the Table Mountains
The Table Mountains is one of the most beautiful and attractive mountain ranges in Poland, with unique, flat tops, extremely interesting outcrops and tight labyrinths among them. The highest point of these mountains is Szczeliniec Wielki (919 m). Be sure to take the paid route at the top. It is also worth going through the Wrong Rocks. We climbed Szczeliniec in 2013, along the yellow trail from the village of Karłów. On the last part of the approach, you have to deviate from this trail. Interestingly, a route formed of 680 stone steps, built in the 18th century, leads to the very top. Climbing up this route takes about 40 minutes. From here, you can enter the Table Mountains National Park with a ticket. We went down another road. I recommend a walk in the Park, because it is only here that the fantastic forms of G. Stołowych begin, including Małpolud or the interesting Piekiełko, dark and cramped. The seal is in the PTTK "Na Szczelińcu" shelter in a box at the entrance or at the ticket office in Szczeliniec.
Our detailed description of the route to Szczeliniec Wielki

High Kick in the Jizera Mountains
Remarkable, though not high, are the Jizera Mountains, rich in interesting minerals. They lie on the border of Poland and the Czech Republic, with the highest peak on Wysokie Kopie (1126 m). You will also find rocks on the trails, and the famous Sky Walk tower in Świeradów. The very top of the High Kick is inaccessible due to the refuge of the black grouse, the plate with the stamp is located slightly below the top. The shortest green trail leads from the Jizera Crossroads between Świeradow-Zdrój and Szklarska Poręba.
Our detailed description of the High Kick trail

Skopiec in the Kaczawskie Mountains
Not far from Jelenia Góra, there is a small range of the Kaczawskie Mountains, forming, together with the surrounding area, the Land of Extinct Volcanoes. Already this name electrifies and rightly suggests that these are old mountains with interesting geology. KGP includes here Skopiec with a height of 724 m. According to the new measurements, however, Okole and Góra Folwarczna are higher. We walked to Skopiec in 2024 on a short and easy blue trail from Komarnicka Pass. After 20 minutes, we stood on a wooded peak. However, there are nice views along the way. The stamp is located at the very top.
Our detailed description of the route to Skopiec

Scalnik in Rudawy Janowickie
A captivating range hiding interesting palaces in the valleys, such as Wojanów, and above the ruins of Bolczów Castle. The north-western part of the Janowice Ore Mountains consists of the Sokole Mountains with rocks, and the eastern part of the Karpniki Hills. Of course, the famous and charming colorful lakes are also noteworthy here. Above the Ore Mountains, there is Ostra Mała (945 m) - the south-western peak of Skalnik.
Chełmiec in the Wałbrzych Mountains
The Wałbrzych Mountains rise picturesquely near Wałbrzych. Although in the Crown of the Polish Mountains there is Chełmiec with a height of 851 m, this is a mistake, because this height was measured with the observation tower. Over Chełmec, Borowa 854 m above sea level has an advantage of 3 meters. It offers an impressive tower from which the views are beautiful, especially at sunset.
We entered Chełmiec in the winter of 2025 from the town of Boguszów-Gorce, from where we followed an easy, green trail from the free parking lot near OSiR, creating a loop from the top, returning a piece of the yellow trail that led us back to the green one. These trailways in the colour of hope are a very easy, comfortable, wide and gentle route. The entire loop is about 6.5 km long and takes about 2 hours. At the top there is a stone observation tower, available from Friday to Sunday (10.00-18.00). There is a box with a stamp at the entrance.
Our detailed description of the trail to Chełmiec

Waligóra in the Stone Mountains
The Stone Mountains rise in the Central Sudetes and are characterized by mountains in the form of cones. They are built by old sedimentary rocks and, to a large extent, volcanic rocks: porphyries and melaphires. The highest is Waligóra with a height of 936 m. It is not scenic, but the shortest yellow trail to the top from the Andrzejówka shelter is also the steepest trail in the Sudetes. It is short and you will quickly get to the top, but you need to get a little tired. Due to the great steepness, it is worth returning along the blue trail around. Below the summit you will find the ruins of a sheepfold, from where there are nice views. You will find a stamp in the PTTK Andrzejówka shelter.
Our detailed description of the trail to Valigora

Wielka Sowa in the Owl Mountains
Located in the Central Sudetes, the Owl Mountains are one of the oldest mountains in this chain. They are built by Precambrian gneisses. Although they are not high, the largest Great Owl exceeds 1000 meters, and is exactly 1015 meters above sea level. We walked along the red Main Sudeten Route. The one-way route is 2.8 km. We left the car in a large, paid car park at the ski station in Sokoliec, on the Sokolej pass. You can climb 500 meters higher, steeply uphill on concrete slabs, to the Orzeł shelter, where a smaller car park awaits, payable in high season. Next, the trail leads gently uphill, through a not very dense forest. At the top there is a brick tower called the Bismarck Tower. Out of season, it is only open on weekends. It is free. Next to it there are shelters where there was a bonfire in winter. There is a box with a stamp under the shed.
Our detailed description of the Great Owl trail

Kłodzka Góra in the Bardzkie Mountains
The Bardzkie Mountains is a not very high extension of G. Owls, also built of old rocks. Kłodzka G. (757 m), entered on the list, is considered the highest here. New measurements have shown, however, that the higher one is located near Szeroka Góra. (765 m). In winter, we walked the blue trail from the Łaszczów Pass. The route is 3.3 km in one direction and requires entry on the way to 2 additional peaks - Ostra Góra and Gajnik. In the place where we left the car, on the Łaszczów Pass, two enduro bicycle loops start. The route is steep in places, especially the approach to Ostra Góra.
A tower was also erected on Kłodzka G. It measures 35 meters high. We have not seen her well yet, and we have already heard her howl, but also the wind was almost hurricane-like all over Poland at that time. Now we know that a lot of people find this tower difficult. There is a stamp underneath.
Our detailed description of the trail to Kłodzka Góra

Jagodna in the Bystrzyckie Mountains
The Bystrzyckie Mountains are not very popular. Strongly forested and sparsely populated, it is an ideal area for people looking for peace and escape from the crowds on the trails. The highest peak of the Bystrzyckie Mountains according to the Crown of the Polish Mountains is Jagodna (977 m), but in fact the second peak of the mountain with a height of 985 m above sea level is higher. It is called Jagodna Północna, sometimes confused with Sasanka. However, it was on Jagodna that an observation tower with a height of 23 meters was erected. It is steel, with a round structure and narrow stairs, so it is a bit harder to climb than the built-up wooden towers.
We came here by the blue trail from the Burnt Pass. You can park under the Jagodna shelter, where delicious, homely food and delicious hot chocolate await you. The trail is very easy, it leads along a wide and comfortable ski slope, which is worth keeping in mind if there are skiers and stick to the shore. The route is 4.3 km one way. You will find the stamp at the top under the shed.
Our detailed description of the trail to Jagodna

Orlice in the Orlicke Mountains
The Orlicke Mountains are a range located in Poland and the Czech Republic. The vast majority of the peaks lie on the Czech side, along with the highest point - Wielka Desztna (1115 m). In the Polish part, the highest peak is Orlica with a height of 1084 m, above Duszniki Zdrój.
We followed the green trail from the parking lot under Sołtyś Kopa. Beautiful views await him in the weather. The route is 2 km one way. Only a fragment runs along the side of the road, then enters the beautiful forest. It climbs gently upwards. The peak itself is located on the Czech side. A wooden observation tower stands 50 meters in front of the non-viewing peak. It has a height of 25.5 meters, but the height of the viewing platform is 17.7 meters. It is easy to get because it is wide and square. You will find a stamp next to it.
Our detailed description of the trail to Orlica

Rudawiec in the Bialskie Mountains
Considered part of the Golden Mountains, or incorporated into the Śnieżnik Massif, they rise above the Silesian Party to the village of Bielice. The highest point here is Rudawiec (1106 m). Rudawiec and Anvil from the Golden Mountains have a common beginning of the trail and we conquered these 2 peaks on the same day. The stamp is on top of the box.
Our detailed description of the trail to Rudawiec

Anvil in the Golden Mountains
The Golden Mountains, which already belong to the Eastern Sudetes, are one of the longer Sudeten ranges. It is 55 km long, most of which is on the Polish side. The highest peak in Poland in the area of these mountains is Stawna with a height of 1117 meters, but on the list there is Anvil (989 m). The stamp is on top of the box.
Our detailed description of the Anvil Trail
Ślęży Massif

It is a very characteristic mountain range, visible from a distance as a clear dome. You will notice it while driving along the motorway, near Wrocław. The climax of the massif is the popular Ślęża, 718 m high. We followed the yellow trail from Sobótka to Ślęża. It is the longest trail in the massif and quite steep, but it is popular because it allows you to get to know the attractions of Ślęża. The length of the approach is 5.4 km, and the walking time is about 2.5 hours. We started in the parking lot at Armii Krajowej Street, from where we approached the Bajęd Garden. Behind the tourist's house, the trail turns left and it gets steep. This is how we get to the observation tower on Wieżyca. From below the tower, the route leads a very pleasant, flat fragment, and under the shed it connects to the red trail from Sobótka and together they run to the top. You will find the stamp in the Roman Zmorski Tourist House at the bar.
Our detailed description of the trail to Ślęża

Biskupia Kopa in the Opava Mountains
The Opawskie Mountains are the easternmost fragment of the Sudetes in Poland. Located in the Opole Voivodeship, they are part of the Jeseníky Mountains. The highest point here is Biskupia Kopa with a height of 889 m. There is a characteristic tower on it. We did not follow one specific trail to Biskupia Kopa, but a combination of trails to see as many interesting facts as possible. We wanted to return from the top along the fastest and, by the way, the steepest red trail to Jarnołtówek, so we left the car next to it, at Bolkówka. However, we directed the steps to the Ziemowit Center, where most tourists start their adventure with this peak in a large parking lot. We quickly took off for the blue trail, because Gwarkowa Perć is waiting there, and on it there is the already famous ladder. It is 11 meters high, 35 rungs and has become a symbol of G. Opawski. Next, we went to the yellow trails, and then along a comfortable route we went to the Mokra Pass near Srebrna Kopa. We continued on the red trail. It's a pretty steep approach, but a fantastic view. After a while, we were upstairs, with a wonderful panorama of the Czech Jeseníky Mountains andPradziada. The stamp is waiting at the top in the box.
Our detailed description of the route to Biskupia Kopa

Baldness in the Świętokrzyskie Mountains
G. Świętokrzyskie is considered the oldest mountain range in Poland. These are the only mountains in Poland located in the central part of the country. The longest, because for millions of years it has been destroyed by many processes, eroded by wind, water and snow. Therefore, they are the lowest. The culmination here is Lysica and it reaches only 614 meters! It rises above the village of Święta Katarzyna. A characteristic element are the so-called gołoborza, i.e. patches of piled stones and boulders of various sizes. We started on the Edmund Massalski Red Trail from Saint Catherine. This is the Main Świętokrzyskie Trail. In about 1 hour we reached the top, passing, for example, the spring and the chapel of St. Francis. The trail is very picturesque and green. Most of the route goes through the forest. Partly on wooden stairs, at the end on cracked boulders. At the top there is a cross and a stamp. 700 meters away there is a plaque with the name Agata's Rock. This is the second, slightly higher peak of the mountain.

Little Book of the Crown of the Polish Mountains
Each member of the Club of Crown Conquerors of the Polish Mountains can purchase a booklet at the AMOS Publishing House. The badge is a confirmation of membership in the Club. This book must be prepared for verification in front of the Winners' Lodge.
It's a nice idea to call up pictures of achieving your goals in 9×13 format. They can be glued or stitched behind the shorter edge to the appropriate side. By deflecting the photo, you can see the seals collected during the hikes. Each page should show the date the mountain was conquered. If you have not succeeded in bouncing the stamp, you must either describe the trail or draw it. You cannot leave any blank page. This way, you can count on the support of the Winners' Lodge. However, we did not check it ourselves, because we do not fill in the stamps.
Confirmation of reaching the summit is having a photo of yourself at the top. However, the confirmation that this act was carried out after joining the Club is a stamp on the appropriate page of the booklet. Stamps can be not only from the very top, if they were not left there, but also from other mountain places, such as a nearby museum, a catering facility or a hostel in the area.

Our Crown of Polish Mountains, or how we conquer the highest Polish peaks
In 2023, we came up with the idea to try to conquer the highest peaks of the Polish mountain ranges. That is why we started our Crown of Polish Mountains Project. Just calmly, without deadlines. No booklets, for your own satisfaction, at your own pace! So we will not join the official conquerors and we will not earn the badge of the conqueror of the crown of the Polish mountains.
At the time of the opening of the Project, we had conquered 6 mountains from the list. It was Śnieżka in the Giant Mountains, Ślęża in the Ślęża Massif, Szczeliniec Wielki in the Table Mountains, Śnieżnik in the Śnieżnik Massif, Babia Góra in the Żywiec Beskids, Skrzyczne in the Silesian Beskids.
In 2023, we added another 6 peaks: Biskupia Kopa in the Opawskie Mountains, Czupel in the Mały Beskids, Łysica in the Świętokrzyskie Mountains, Mogielica in the Wyspowy Beskids, Lubomir in the Makowski Beskids and Turbacz in Gorce.
In2024, we added another 9 peaks: Wielka Sowa in G. Sowich, Orlica in G. Orlicki, Jagodna in G. Bystrzycki, Kłodzka Góra in G. Bardzkich, Skopiec in G. Kaczawski, Wysoka in Pieniny, Kowadło in G. Złotych, Rudawiec in G. Bialskie and Rysy in the Tatra Mountains.
This brings the total to 21 peaks at the beginning of 2025! There are 7 remaining. Further peaks to be conquered are in the plans closer and closer.
