Cape Greco in Cyprus. Attractions and sightseeing in Kawo Greko National Park near Ayia Napa

Cape Greco is a picturesque cape in the southeast of Cyprus that enchants with its phenomenal views, turquoise water and sharp sand-coloured rocks. It is known for its unusual rock formations and crystal clear water forming a spectacular landscape. This natural beauty meant that a national park was created here, decorated with ragged coastlines and numerous sea caves. It is a perfect place for trekking, but also for diving and snorkeling. As you can see, it is also a beautiful place for an unforgettable sunset.

Attractions Cape Town, what to see in Cape Greco?
Cape Greco is such a vast area that it is worth devoting an entire afternoon to it and ending the tour with a spectacular sunset at the end. See what the most famous tourist attractions are waiting for you here!
Rock Bridge of Love at Cape Greco (Love Bridge)
In the resort of Ayia Napa, a magnificent rock formation rises on the shore, whose name is the Bridge of Love. If you are in love, you have to climb on his back. This is where Cape Greco begins. This is an extremely beautiful part of the island. Sea waves have carved many spacious caves and caves in the rocks, which are accessible only from a boat. The rock bridge attracts the most tourists out of all the places we visited in the area, but there were no crowds here anyway.

Ayia Napa Sculpture Park
The Sculpture Park is an attraction located very close to the Bridge of Love. It is a small hill on which about 200 sculptures, mainly related to mythology, stood. They are by various artists and there would be nothing very special about us if it were not for the fact that among the statues you can find the sculpture of the Polish artist, Ryszard Litwiniuk. Another interesting fact is that the park is available without restrictions. This art gallery under the cloud takes the form of a public park, open to everyone around the clock. And next to it there is a free car park. They are Greek and Cypriot, admirable.

Cyclops Cave and viewpoint on Cavo Greco (Cyclops Cave)

At the cape, it is worth visiting this place, where the Cyclops Cave is located. It offers nice views of the sea and benches indicating the most beautiful viewpoints. In fact, Cyclops Cave is just a cave, but it is surrounded by an interesting beach with turtles. We were looking for them, but we were not so lucky. Along the way, stop at the Agioi Anargyroi Chapel and Konnos Beach.
Info: free entrance, you can get here quickly from the free parking lot

Blue Lagoon on Cape Greco (Blue Lagoon)
The blue lagoon is the most wonderful place on the cape. It is here that boats and ships come to admire the phenomenally beautiful scenery, with blue waters flowing around the rocks. We came to the Blue Lagoon for the sunset, I recommend walking around the rocky promontory, because it is a delightful, wild place, without crowds.

Sea Caves on Cape Greco
Near the Lagoon there are popular Sea Caves. These are natural caves formed in rock cliffs. Such a beautiful effect of wind and water. There is a beautiful view from here and you can easily go down to the rock window to take a photo similar to Malta in the Al-Mixta cave on the island of Gozo or Cala del Moro in Majorca. Volunteers can even go down to the water itself and swim. From Ayia Napa you can get here in 15 minutes.

Kawo Greko National Park (Cavo Greco National Park)
Kawo Greko National Park covers the most valuable fragments of the cape and is a great place to relax, also active. Admission to the park is free, as are the car parks. It offers idyllic views of the cliffs and the sea, the best viewpoints are with benches, as well as numerous hiking and cycling trails. It's all waiting for Cape Greco. Be sure to come this way. I don't know about summer, but in December we were almost alone here, and the weather was beautiful! Unfortunately, you can't fly a drone here.

Cape Greco map

Below is a map of Cyprus and the attractions of Kawo Greko marked on it.
Cape Greco is the eastern tip of the European Union
Cyprus is very European. You can feel Greece strongly here. But in fact, it lies on the border of Europe, Africa and Asia and is included in the latter continent. The charming Cape Greco is the eastern tip of the European Union. Although it is not the easternmost point of the island, which consists of 3 countries. The Greek part - the Republic of Cyprus, which we visited, Turkish Northern Cyprus, which is generally considered an occupied area, and the overseas territories of Great Britain.

Other things to do in Cyprus
- Paphos - Ancient City
- Aphrodite's Rock - the birthplace of the goddess of love Ayia Napa with the Bridge of Love
- Troodos Mountains - with waterfalls and old churches
- Aphrodite Baths and Aphrodite Trail - a great place for trekking
- Avakas Gorge - an attractive trekking trail

Accommodation in Cyprus
When we were in Cyprus, we slept in Paphos, at the Nereus Hotel. It is very conveniently located. It looks very nice, it is large and very decent for its reasonable price. It provides a rich breakfast. The room is nice and includes everything you need, a bed, a wardrobe, a desk, a chair and armchair, as well as a kettle with a set of coffee and tea. There is also a private bathroom. There is also air conditioning. We ordered the hotel in advance by booking, it cost about PLN 250 per night per room (2024). We had to pay only a few days before leaving for Cyprus.
We landed in Larnaca, and it was from this airport that we were close to Cape Greco, which is why we took our first steps there, before staying overnight. Similarly, I recommend you visit Ayia Napa and Cape Greco while traveling in Cyprus!
